Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2026-02-01 | Last Updated: 2026-10-05

Borderless Self App Privacy Policy

Borderless Self (“we”, “our”, or “us”) helps you organize documents, explore country and career opportunities, research living costs, and plan your relocation. This section describes the iOS app, including Living, résumé guidance, job discovery, and Bongi in version 1.4. The Website section below describes our website separately.

Who is responsible for the app

The Borderless Self app is operated by Yoliswa Ventures LLC, the company responsible for the processing of personal data described in this app policy (the data controller).

Business address:
Yoliswa Ventures LLC
30 N Gould ST STE R
Sheridan, Wyoming 82801
United States

For app privacy questions or requests, email support@borderlessself.com or write to the business address above.

Account, profile, and documents

We process account details such as your name, email address, sign-in identifiers, subscription status, notification preferences, and account activity. Information you choose to add to your mobility profile can include nationality, residence, destinations of interest, qualifications, employment experience, languages, and relocation goals. We use this information to provide your account, personalize guidance, and assess profile or document readiness.

You may upload passports, identity documents, visas, residency permits, education and employment records, medical records, or other relocation files. Files and associated details, including names, document types, countries, dates, and family-member associations, are processed to organize your vault, restore your files, and provide reminders. Uploaded content may contain sensitive personal information. Add only what you need and are entitled to provide. Cloud-backed files and records are stored using Firebase services; device copies may also be kept for access in the app.

Family document management lets an account holder organize documents for other people. Only upload another person’s information with their permission or another valid legal authority. A parent or legal guardian must have authority to manage a child’s records. Assigning a file to a family member does not itself create a separate account or give that person access.

Résumé guidance and professional profile

When you import a supported résumé, text extraction and the initial résumé analysis take place on your device. You can review and correct suggested professional details before they are applied to your profile. Reviewed fields, such as your occupation, skills, experience, education, certifications, and languages, can synchronize to your account through Firebase. The original résumé file is also backed up privately through Firebase when backup succeeds so it can be restored on another device. On-device analysis does not mean the original file is stored only on the device.

We use reviewed professional information to support profile guidance and relevance matching. Uploading a résumé does not publish it, submit a job application, or automatically send it to employers or Fantastic.jobs.

Jobs and employers

Job discovery sends search criteria, such as role keywords, country, remote-work preferences, and sponsorship filters, to our authenticated backend. Our backend queries Fantastic.jobs and caches results. Search preferences, saved roles, and followed employers may be stored with your account. Search terms can contain personal information if you type it; avoid entering passport numbers or other sensitive details in job searches.

Fantastic.jobs receives the search criteria needed to retrieve listings, rather than your original résumé or complete mobility profile. Opening an employer’s or job provider’s application link takes you to a separate service, which may receive ordinary web connection information and any details you choose to submit there. Its privacy policy applies to that interaction.

Living research and personal planning

Living uses research sources, including Numbeo, to show city and country information. City research requests can be associated with your account on our backend so we can retrieve, cache, and refresh the requested information. The selected destination may be sent to a data provider. Saved destination interests may also form part of your profile.

The Living planner’s budget or income amounts, household assumptions, and personal cost choices are stored locally in the current iOS implementation and used for calculations on the device. These amounts are not included in the Living research requests sent to Numbeo. General feature-use analytics are described below. Local plans may be lost if app data is removed, and you should not assume they synchronize between devices.

Bongi and artificial intelligence

Bongi provides journeys, checklists, planning guidance, and drafts. On supported devices, its AI suggestions use Apple’s on-device language model. The context supplied to that model includes the journey details you enter, your request, recent conversation context, and any professional summary you review and choose to include. Bongi does not pass the contents of your document vault or your original résumé to its AI model.

In version 1.4, Bongi conversations, journey details, and drafts are stored for your account on the device, rather than synchronized to our cloud. Bongi does not send these prompts to a cloud AI provider. Guided planning remains available when the on-device AI model is unavailable; availability depends on device, operating system, language, region, and settings. Bongi session recording is paused while its interface is open.

Nothing is automatically emailed, submitted, booked, or sent to an employer or authority by Bongi. If you copy, export, or share a draft, you control the recipient and should review its contents first. The app or service you share to will handle that copy under its own policies.

Analytics, diagnostics, and advertising measurement

We use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, PostHog, and AppsFlyer to understand feature use, diagnose failures, measure acquisition and conversions, and improve reliability. These services may process account or app identifiers, device and app information, interaction events, subscription events, attribution information, and technical connection data. Analytics may be linked to your account identifier; it should not be assumed to be anonymous.

PostHog is configured to record a sample of app sessions using screen replay, with masking for text inputs, images, and sandboxed views. Replay can include navigation, interactions, and visible interface content outside masked areas. Network telemetry and console-log capture are disabled for replay. Event filtering is configured to remove document names, contact details, authentication values, and similar sensitive properties. These safeguards are distinct from the cloud storage needed to operate your account and vault.

AppsFlyer supports attribution and deep links. Where you grant Apple’s tracking permission, a normalized, SHA-256-hashed email address may be sent to AppsFlyer for advanced matching; hashing is not anonymization. Google’s on-device conversion measurement may use the signed-in email on the device. Basic product analytics and diagnostics are separate from Apple’s tracking permission. You can change tracking permission in iOS Settings; denying tracking does not turn off every form of analytics.

Service providers and other disclosures

  • Firebase / Google Cloud: authentication, account and profile records, document and résumé storage, backend functions, analytics, diagnostics, and messaging.
  • Apple: sign-in where selected, App Store payments, device permissions, and supported on-device AI functionality.
  • RevenueCat: purchase receipts, transaction and subscription status, entitlement management, and subscription measurement integrations. We do not store full payment-card details.
  • PostHog and AppsFlyer: analytics, sampled session replay, diagnostics, attribution, and measurement as described above.
  • Fantastic.jobs and Numbeo: job and living research data, using the relevant search or destination requests described above.
  • Resend: delivery of sign-in codes and service emails, using the recipient address and message content.

We use providers to perform these functions for the service. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights and security, or when you direct us to share it. External employers, advisers, and linked websites operate under their own policies. We do not automatically give them your document vault. Advertising measurement disclosures and choices are described above and, for website cookies, below.

Notifications and communications

We may send sign-in messages, expiry reminders, readiness alerts, account and subscription messages, progress notifications, and product communications. Use the available app notification preferences, device notification settings, and unsubscribe controls for optional communications. Essential account or security messages may still be needed to provide the service.

Security, retention, and deletion

We use technical and organizational measures, including authenticated access controls and protections supplied by our cloud and device platforms. No system can guarantee absolute security. Keep independent copies of important original documents and protect access to your device and account.

Account records and uploaded content are retained while needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. You can use Delete Account in the app’s Account section to request removal of your authentication account and the associated primary account records and cloud vault. Some records outside the primary account, such as deletion audit records, transaction records, email delivery records, security logs, or provider-held analytics, may remain subject to their applicable retention requirements. Account deletion is not a promise that every backup or third-party log is erased immediately.

Signing out or uninstalling the app does not itself delete cloud account information or cancel an App Store subscription. Manage subscriptions separately through Apple. You can delete individual content where the app provides that control, delete Bongi journeys on the device, or contact us for help with deletion, including data held by our service providers. Copies you have exported or shared remain outside our control.

Purposes and legal grounds

We process account, profile, and uploaded content to provide the services you request; security and diagnostic information to protect and maintain the service; and transaction records to administer purchases and meet applicable obligations. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these activities may rely on performing our agreement with you, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, legal obligations, or consent for activities that require it. Processing sensitive information may require an additional legal condition; this notice does not itself supply that condition or replace required consent. You can contact us about the basis for a particular use of your information.

Your privacy rights and international processing

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, a copy of your information, restriction of processing, or object to certain uses. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent and complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact support@borderlessself.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before acting, without asking you to post sensitive documents publicly.

Our service and providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside your country. Applicable privacy and transfer requirements depend on where you live and the processing involved. Use of the app is not treated as blanket consent to new uses of sensitive data. Where consent or another legal authorization is required, this policy does not replace it.

Children and family records

Borderless Self is designed for adults planning travel or relocation and is not directed to children as independent account holders. Adults may store dependent children’s records using family document features where they have the necessary authority. This differs from collecting information directly from children. Contact us if a child has provided information without appropriate authorization.

Changes and contact

We will post revisions with an updated date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. For app privacy, account, and deletion questions, contact support@borderlessself.com. Website contact details and website-specific practices appear below.
